So, I have definitely been watching! And I have to agree with some of the criticisms so far. It's been a real 'slow burn' to the real meat of the story. But I actually really LOVE that. I've seen three episodes so far, and the third episode totally made me a fan of the series and made me want to see what was coming up next!
(Sorry to the whole "OMG!!! I have to buy it on DVD and watch TWENTY HOURS of a series in a row to feel satisfied!!!!" generation! But I came from a time when people ENJOYED being excited for the next chapter of a story, and couldn't gobble it all up in a single evening!)
Anyway, the story has been building a really creepy vibe with the infected, and I'm interested to see where it goes from there. My one gripe would be that I'm not really invested in the main characters asmuch as I thought I would be. I mean, the characters have real life issues to deal with that seem as though they 'should' be emotional...but I don't really feel it like I think the show wants you to feel it. So for now...I'm just stuck looking for demonic vampires and long tongues andlots and lots of MURDER! :P
(The creepy ass girl in the bathtub??? Was that not AWESOME??? Come on!!! You've GOTTA give 'em that one!!!)
Anyway, I'm giving "The Strain" a '7' out of 10 for now! It's way too cool and involving for a '6'...but it han't really reached that '8' or '9' level yet. Despite it's potential. I'll be back in a few weeks to see if anything has changed. For the better...or the worse...
