Subject: Kids and Braces

How is it that as a child Melissa Gilbert had teeth that looked like they needed braces, however, we never saw them on the show. Of course braces were not invented in those days. Did they hide her teeth from the camera somehow? As an older Laura her teeth are so beautiful. Did they have a way of hiding the braces in the 70's?

The bracing may set the teeth in a position that the society has defined as normal. But in most cases this treatment destroys natural beauty and functionality, and harms anatomical structures in the jaws, face, cranium and neck in a way that can creates serious problems later, including serious neurological complications.

Bracing will always make changes in these structures, a fact that are seldome spoken about. But sometimes the orthodontists brag about them, when they feel the changes can be interpreted as something beneficial, but without telling about the serious side effects.
