I think she still would have married Almanzo, and not gone to college. They started courting when she was 15, she didn't really seem to like teaching all that much, and in those days I think any career by a woman was looked as as temporary anyway.
But maybe Mary would have gone to college if she had not gone blind.

I think she would still have married Almanzo too. She did appreciate the importance of education, but I don't think she wanted to go further than school - she didn't seem that bothered that she didn't even graduate.
