I'm out in Oregon, so Isabel is not coming my way, but I grew up in Connecticut and remember hurricanes that struck there. Some were "mild" and just a lot of wind and rain, but others were terrible, causing much destruction. We lived in-land enough to not have damage, but down by the water trees would go down, roofs would be blown off houses, boats would end up on pilings, etc. And of course the power would go out. I remember playing Scrabble by candlelight as we waited out the hurricanes. I hope Isabel weakens and causes no more than interesting weather rather than dangerous weather.
