Subject: LHOTP Books

Hi, I haven't posted a message in a while... but was wondering has anyone re-read the books lately? I recently re-read them (again) which I do every year or so and really enjoyed them. With each re-reading
I always seem to pick up some thing I hadn't noticed before.

Anne, it's so good to "see" you around. I've thought of you often. I hope all is well with you and the family.....

I haven' read the books in awhile, but I just might pick them up again. I've been wanting a good read and they fit the description.

Stay around for a while, please. We all miss you.

I haven't re-read a whole book for a while, but I often pick one up and read part. For instance, around Christmas I'll pick LHOTP books that I know have Christmas scenes, and I'll read them.
Anne, girl, how are things in Australia? And how are those kids of yours?

It's nice to be back! I hope you ladies are going well.

I am going very well and so is my family. My youngest son Thomas is now over 1 year old and going really well; he is an energetic bundle of joy!

I often think of you all and wish the board was as active as it used to be... I'll try and drop in more often and post sometimes.

It has been a hot summer here in Australia; I can't wait for winter!

We've had a an unusually dry winter here in Eugene, and we're hoping for a rainy spring (rather than a rainy summer, lol!).

Whenever the weather is not the way it's "supposed" to be, I think of Pa and all his struggles with farming!

Congratulations Lisa!! Two is hard work isn't it, but they are great (specially when asleep...)
Things are great here. Mine are both in school now and I work from home - time flies by, I don't know how I used to manage!

Lisa, Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! Of course here in the US her birthday is a holiday. :)

Ellie, that's great that you get to work at home, such a nice arrangement, especially when you have young children.

I have been reading them to my nearly 8 year old son. We are on LTOP. Still have FB and THGY to go. HE LOVES THEM!!!!!! I thought he might think they were a bit girly.
Reading them aloud for the first time is interesting as you don't skip over bits too quickly as I am prone to do.

Yea, it is so great to hear your son likes the books! The theory is that boys won't like books where a girl is the main character, but for goodness sake, Laura's stories, while they certainly have cozy quiet times, are so full of adventure that they should appeal to all kids.
I think reading to one's children is one of the best ways to get them interested in books and reading.

Hi, Lisa and Ellie! It's good to see you are still lurking.

My son read the books in 5th grade. He liked them and because of the books he wanted to learn more of the pioneer era.
