TV Land is showing the early episodes of LHOP, when the girls were young, Albert was just a gleam in Michael Landon's eye, and the stories were more in line with the tone of the book. Ahhhhhh.

I've been using DVR and watching them when I get home. I wish they wouldn't edit them! I would love to see the episodes as they first aired. One case in point is Sweet Sixteen. They omit Laura buying the new heeled shoes. This is a very important scene, because it made her look taller, which in turn made Almanzo notice she changed. AHHH

It's a shame, Lisa. See at least one person is missing an important scene. Do you recall Laura looking down at her feet after she tells Almanzo, "We better get started before it gets dark." (something like that) She looks down because she knows the shoes made her look more mature. She even said so to Miss Minnie!

Almanzo isn't even in the picture yet in the episodes I've been seeing. The girls are little. Two recent ones are where Ma tells Laura she "got" Pa by making him jealous with someone else and Laura tries this with a boy she likes (using Willie as "the other guy!"), and then one where Pa buys Ma "new" dishes.
