Subject: Men not finding things

Remember we had an earlier post on men not being able to find things (at least things smaller than a new continent, lol)? Well, I got this in an email, and I'd share it. It's past time for this in the current situation, but in the future!!!

Subject: Fw: Inspector Mom

Have you noticed anything fishy about the inspection teams who have arrived in Iraq? They're all men!

How in the name of the United Nations does anyone expect men to find Saddam's stash? We all know that men have a blind spot when it comes to finding things. For crying'out loud! Men can't find the dirty clothes hamper. Men can't find the jar of jelly until it falls out of the cupboard
and splatters on the floor.... and these are the people we have sent into Iraq to search for hidden weapons of mass destruction?

I keep wondering why groups of mothers weren't sent in.

Mothers can sniff out secrets quicker than a drug dog can find a gram of dope. Mothers can find gin bottles that dads have stashed in the attic beneath the rafters. They can sniff out a diary two rooms and one floor away. They can tell when the lid of a cookie jar has been disturbed and notice when a quarter inch slice has been shaved off a chocolate cake. A mother can smell alcohol on your breath before you get your key in the front door and can smell cigarette smoke from a block away. By examining laundry,
a mother knows more about their kids than Sherlock Holmes. And if a mother wants an answer to question, she can read an offender's eyes quicker than a homicide detective.

So... considering the value a mother could bring to an inspection team, why are we sending a bunch of men who will rely on electronic equipment to scout out hidden threats?

LOL! I have read that before but it IS quite appropriate, isn't it?!

And just to add a new story - Garrett was making Cream of Wheat last weekend. He informed me he couldn't make any because we were out of brown sugar. I asked, "Did you look on the baking shelf?" (I have my pantry organized by category - baking/pasta/coffee/junk food etc.) He promptly reponded, "yes!" So I get up and walk in to the pantry and it is RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY NOSE - where you ask??? On the baking shelf! LOL!!! MEN!

We have to wonder just WHERE it is they're looking when they so completely miss the obvious, lol!

My husband is especially bad at finding something to eat!! He will come to me clutching his stomach in hunger and say, "There is nothing in the house to eat!" I will think, "Well that's strange, I just did the shopping yesterday" and go to the fridge and pantry and rustle something tasty up for him in no-time!! It's like, if it would take any amount of effort, then it's just "too hard!" Mind you, he is an extremely capable man who can build anything, fix anything - but find a meal or a snack? - oh, too hard!!
