Subject: An example of one person in Frontier House

"Aine Clune, 15, says that she can't wait to go home. "It's been hard," she says, because she been living with her family in a small log cabin, and has to do her chores everyday. She's responsible for milking the cows twice a day, and making sure that they have enough water and food. "Eating the same foods, wearing the same clothes, and seeing the same people each day can be tiring," she says, and she's gotten so bored with her life that she is even looking forward to going back to school. One thought that gets her through each day, she says, is her new home in Malibu, and the idea of shopping at the mall for all the things she's missed: new clothes, new movies, huge piles of candy, soda, and hamburgers."

I think they were there from last June through December. The show will be on PBS starting April 29.

I would go completely insane if I had to live like that. At 15, I would have driven myself mad. I have always been one who likes to be around people. I also like food and movies. There is no way I would volunteer for that show.

Yes, at that age friends are so important! Not that they aren't later in life also, but if you have a spouse you have a built-in friend.
I wonder if the fact that Rose had no siblings was part of her resentment of her life in Mansfield. Laura always had Mary, and then her other sisters for companionship, so even when they lived in remote places she was not without someone her age around. Of course, if Rose had a sibling or two, she probably would have found something to dislike in them also, lol!
