I have just finished reading all the Little House books for the millionth time (!!!), as I'm up to my neck in dissertation! I'll be posting soon looking for advice/ answers to stuff I need to know about re pioneer clothing/ fashion, but right now, I have to prepare a half-hour long presentation for Monday (Grrr).

you were going to be doing something regarding pioneer fashion/clothing. In Frontier House they provided what was supposed to be attire from that area that was authentic. The corsets looked horribly uncomfortable. Instead of a cup in what would be the bra area, the whole thing was just this sort of board that was pulled really tight around the women's waists and busts.
Also, they provided a wedding dress for the woman who got married, saying women usually wore their Sunday best, and it was a pink and purple "sailor suit" as the poor bride described it. Fortunately, the groom sent a surprise gift of a lovely white wedding gown and veil.
Good luck with your dissertation and research!
