LOL about the saw. Men - there is no other word for that statement!

You know, my dh mother has a rule that she is NOT to be giving anything at all for the kitchen for ANY occasion. She doesn't think getting a blender is a gift! Not a bad idea - although the first few years of my marriage I wanted kitchen stuff!

I don't know of anything that I really want yet. But I know I want my break time. Next semester I get 19 credit hrs so I want to enjoy it while I have time off.

LOL Kim!!! Actually you aren't the only one who has thought of that idea. Right after dh and I moved in to our new place I told him WE needed to get married again so we could register and get gifts of all the stuff we needed for the house! You know, curtains, blinds, bathroom stuff for 3 baths etc..... He just laughed at me. Well *I* thought it was a good idea!

We are lucky with his mom. She collects those little mini shoes. So we can go to a Hallmark store for that. But she loves Christmas stuff so this year I bought her a candle holder which has a little Christmas Village surrounding the 3 spots you can place the candles! IMO people always like Christmas stuff!!! You can NEVER have enough of it! So maybe that is a good idea for you :-)

So what is your dh mother's idea of a GREAT gift? My MIL is so hard to buy for and I am looking to anyone to supply an idea. Even a germ of an idea. LOL She has everything she wants and if perchance she thinks of something she doesn't have, she just waltzes over to the shop and buys it. Must be nice.

I agree about the kitchen stuff. I sure don't want any small appliances now, but as a newlywed, I needed EVERYTHING! The sad thing is, that we've been married over 14 years now and things are starting to wear out and need replacing. I told my dh awhile back that we needed to get married again so all of our friends would buy us neat stuff for shower gifts. At that moment our darling little son, who was 4 at the time, piped up and asked me why all of our friends would come over and give us presents while Mummy and Daddy were having a shower. And people wonder why I'm going grey prematurely.
