Subject: Snow in Minnesota

I saw on the news that it snowed in MN yesterday. Even though the story took place in DeSmet, it make me think of The Long Winter. Brrr.

Ann, I saw that too, and I thought about the episode on the LHOTP TV show where they had that terrible blizzard, which was based on the true event. I know it may sound like I am a nutty fan of the show, but when I think of Minnesota, I first think of Michael Landon, and Then the real Laura Ingalls Wilder. Another thing I find my self doing, and I know yall are going to roll your eyes at me on this one...lol.....Out near where I live, on a back road, are some rail road tracks with no buildings or anything near, and everytime I go over those tracks, for some reason, I think of the show, and the train that they always showed on the show when they were traveling to Minneapolis. Am I an old goofball?

No, you're a young goofball. Just kidding! LOL I can understand what you're talking about. Some places just have an aura of a different time and if they resemble something you've seen that related to the show then it's going to spark a memory of the show.

Gee, thanks Ann... I THINK! LOL!.. Yes, this particular area that I cross over the tracks, looks untouched by the times of today.. just in that spot tho, lol. My family and I went to Niagra falls several years back, and I was in such awe of all of its beauty, and I found my self wondering what it must have been like before it was all commercialized for tourists, with out all of the hand rails, and benches, and restaraunts and shops. What it must have been like standing there in the middle of the "country" with this beautiful scenery. My husband called me a goofball THEN too, lol.
