Sad, but true. Laura has fallen in love with a rough lookin' hill man. They shared a few tender moments over a bucksaw. Watching this man go back and forth, back and forth was more than she could bear. What really got to her was the sweat pertruding through his pores. She tried not to fall for him but poor, lazy Almanzo was lying on his backside with a bedpan under his butt. What else could she do?

So, if you saw the longing looks between Laura and her hill man, you were not seeing things. She has truly fallin' for a crusty ole hobo.

If you would like to cheer up Almanzo, you can have him Mon-Fri (I have him on the weekends). His feet may be crippled, but the rest of him is perky.

In the uncut version, you can see the scene where Laura scrubs Corny's back in the creek and washes his hair (longer than her own, of course). Laura is wearing nothing but a smile and that hat, and he cleans up jest fine. Then Corny reads a bit of Five Little Peppers aloud to Laura, who is wearing yet another pretty low-cut and lace-frilled dress, and she realizes that she can write as good as that!

Meanwhile, back at the cabin, Almanzo spends his time building little play castles out of fire mats.

Even without his feet, Almanzo could probably boogie quite well where it counted. I will volunteer to keep him occupied on Thursdays. I wouldn't want to be greedy, and, after all, I'm old enough to be his mother.
