World-class background: Phi Beta Kappa student-athlete from ND, JD from Stanford, PhD from Harvard and substantial Ivy League and small liberal arts college experience. I'm also intrigued that he actually spent time out of academia, in the real world, at an elite law firm.

Now, as with all of the Presidents we've had, my #1 question/concern is if he plans to build on and amplify what makes Colgate a unique place or if he'll push to turn us into some version of a NESCAC school?

Welcome Brian Casey. Please be a supporter of Colgate football!!!

Initial impressions are very favorable. Casey was an athlete at an institution which values athletes (and used its athletic renown to improve its academic standing). Also real world experience as mentioned, and a resume hard to top. His 'oddball quotient" seems very low, certainly compared to Jeffrey, Buddy, Neil, etc.
