By any measure this was a great Colgate Football season. From being picked third in the PL, losing the first three and then going three deep in the playoffs is a heck of an accomplishment. Plus, Colgate does it without transfers, redshirts and fifth year grad students. And, they take classes and complete exams and graduate. Colgate has elevated its program and the PL. Congratulations to the players, coaches and staff you made a lot of folks proud by your performance.

Can't imagine keeping pace with any league today without scholarships. The talent of transfers and 5th year players of teams much larger than ours is daunting. Even with scholarships, I doubt we will ever rise to that deep, playoff level. Larger schools like JMU, state schools like UNH or JaxSt or AppSt not long ago, or schools less strict admissions standards (not to sound arrogant)...

The PL still has its hands full but the future success of the program made scholarships a necessity in the modern era. We also don't have the endowment of the Ivy League to help those in need who might consider the PL, no?
