Navy, of course, is not limited in the number of scholarships that they can give (as all cadets have the same package). This provides a lot of flexibility to the coaching staff, who may have to worry about roster limits, but don't really have to worry about promises of money.

The Davis family certainly knows all of this, and if Navy is the right choice for "Little" Emmett, I thank him for his service to our country. Navy is a fine institution and I am grateful that young men and women continue to volunteer to defend our country.

However, in terms of playing football, I do wonder if Emmett would have a better chance of seeing snaps under center at Colgate than at Navy. Navy currently has ten (10) on their roster listed as "QB". Several are freshmen and sophomores. They all have size on him.

Thus I'm holding out hope we have a Davis back in Hamilton next year.

My father would beat me to within an inch of my life....

Midshipmen is the term for Navy students, not cadets. Sorry Navy folks.
