Subject: 'Gate up 12-6 at the half

Our offense was effective moving the ball. We are running well and Melville looks comfortable.

2 missed PATs (1 blocked) hurt and is just silly for a D1
team.

Defense is really hanging tough, particularly in the red zone.

We got the ball back with 1:00 left in the half and just bled the clock. Don't know if that's good strategy or not.

Big 2nd half. Go Gate!!!

Fingers crossed, knock on wood but control the ball much of the 3rd qtr. 20-6 going into the 4th. Defense has been outstanding. Like the play of both lines. Go 'gate

For some reason we don't do 4th quarters well. But a win is a win. 27-20, but a nail biter in the end. Congratulations to Coach Hunt and the Red Raiders. First win at UNH since 1983 as I recall. On to JMU.

WOW!!!!!

I've been following Colgate football since 2005. I was at the UNH game that year when we lost 55-21. This was the best win I've ever seen.

Colgate was the better team. Great win! First playoff win since 2003!
Congrats to the team.

Good game by all aspects - both lines, offense and defense. Play of Colgate's DB's, which has been questioned this year, deserves credit as UNH has a very good passing game. Happy for Hunt and the coaches. Their game plan was clearly a success.

What a terrific, historical win for Colgate!!! And some great fans in the stands, too! Scoring on our first possession (off a turnover) and first after the half are always key IMO. Nice quote from FCS site below:

STATS Takeaway: A 26-8 home loss to New Hampshire on Sept. 12 didn't deter the Patriot League champion Raiders. They played with poise and confidence and never trailed against the host Wildcats, who played their final game at Cowell Stadium. After UNH's poor performance, it became easier to question the Wildcats' inclusion in the playoffs for the 12th straight season.

Having the UNH coach on the selection committee...I smell politics. This was a beatable team by most standards and the better team prevailed. Nice redemption and memorable farewell to Cowell Stadium!!! Anyone else stunned at the pitch pass with 4min to go in the 4th?! That bonehead play call could have ruined a valiant Colgate performance and should get that coach a punch in the jaw.
