Subject: WSOC loses its swagger and a game to the Bison 2-1
In reply to: Andy Kerr 's message, "Women's Soccer losing their Sagger ?" on 10/ 1/15 2:45:09pm Thu

Kathy Brawn lost to her former star player Kelly Kruss, now the head coach of Bucknell's WSOC team. As heartbreaking as that may be for Kathy and the team, there's a larger issue here. This personnel on this team are not that different from last year's. Yet, their lackluster performance against strong o.o.c. competition has shifted to a lackluster performance against PL opponents that they normally dismiss hadily !
What's up ?

From the Colgate website:

"Colgate dropped the contest 2-1; making it the first time since 2010 the Raiders fell to the Bison."

This is about losing a game...That's what can happen in soccer and in this case it's today and otherwise 5 years ago. I can live with that without losing sleep.

Go 'gate!

Another thing to keep in mind is that winning is getting tougher. Prior to football scholarships, Colgate had the most scholarships of any PL team and spent the most money, by far, of any PL team. Some teams, including Bucknell, had zero scholarships for many years. Now everyone has a number of them - plus a very strong team (Boston U) has joined the league. Winning will be tougher going forward.
