Regarding Out of the 'Gate's comment about Decicco's conversion to a specialty RB (done, I think, by Hunt when he was both QB coach and OC), Atwood & Melville on the field at the same time would be intriguing.

Colgate’s been inside the other team's 22 yard line eleven times in the past two games and scored four times. 4 for 11 from inside the other team’s 22 is an incredible amount of points left on the field.

Colgate had 34 and 36 yard FG's blocked. Kicks were a little low and looked a tenth or two slow--too much time between hold and kick getting off.

Yale went 8-8 passing in the 4th.
D-line dominated middle of the game and then stopped getting any pressure. Don't know why.

QB draw works very well.
Back shoulder pass to Greenawalt always works.
Play action pass to Maddaluna over the middle works--kid looks so dynamic with the ball in his hands but gets four touches a game. If you send the TE deep and go play action, isn't the middle of the field going to be open every time? Give QB the read of either Maddaluna crossing or QB keeping it.
Missed pass in flat to Wilkins with six minutes left was the one they will regret the most. Wilkins needed six and probably would have gotten 30.
48 runs. QB ran 12 times--maybe 4 of those were when QB kept on the read option. If you have a run-first QB, make sure he runs--the juke on the TD tells you how dangerous he is once he gets to the second level. Can’t think of the last time Colgate had the QB keep the ball two plays in a row on the read option—probably Mooney against Albany.

Two O lineman out. One D lineman. Two starting D backs. Not the worst positions to lose players but have lost some really good players.

Overall, this isn’t a team getting physically dominated. It’s a team not making plays. If they make them, they win. Simple as that.

Can still be a great year.

Thx 4 the different perspective. The 0-3 start is not ideal but not completely unexpected. Think this was only the 4th time Yale has come to Hamilton. Great crowd, poor execution, terrible result. Penalties were not made by young players. Our leaders did not lead. Seemed every 1st down play was a predictable, 1 or 2-yd run up the middle.

Will try to be tactful in saying this, but a new QB could be the magic we need to reinvigorate this team. Do not want to put the success or failure on any one player, but if he remains, we may have our third losing season.

Hunt is likable, energetic, even giddy at times...everything Biddle was not. Unfortunately, his tenure is off to an auspicious start but still have great confidence and excitement with his leadership. Was sitting next to the Armiento family, Eachus, DiCicco, and others...wish we could have earned them the W for Homecoming.

Maybe some brotherhood bonding on the bus is what we need! Will be at HC, weather permitting. Princeton romps Lafayette, BU barely survives at Cornell...we have our work cut out for us. The PL has become stagnant during our transition to scholarships. Cannot wait to get our League and Colgate's program into winning rhythm!
