also not mentioned that the D gave up 365 yards.
in 3 games the opponent has averaged north of 400 yards of offense....that's awful!! and has outscored gate more than 2 to 1...that's awful!

Is 300 yards of total offense supposed to be some kind of accomplishment...get a clue...In McCarney's junior season we averaged around 500 yards/game and 300 is actually below average at any level of college football...he simply doesn't get it, unfortunately...

Gate should be looking for 450 yards per game. 300 is not what winners talk about. As for the D, remember this was Yale's first game of the year which put their offense at a significant disadvantage.

Re Gate's offense, the team has TEs at 6'6 and 6' 2, 3 WRs at 6" 3 and other WRs who can exploit the open field, including Madaluna and Wingenroth. Gate cannot run the ball against a decent defense without a strong passing game. Questions for posters who may know- how would you compare the passing ability of each Colgate QB, and how would you plan your Offense? Gate should be giving Defensive coordinators plenty to chew on but they can pretty much go to sleep. One more question, other than special teams, what to the coaches do?- Plan O, teach tackling instruct on techinique or whatever? What would next week be like if the coaches took the week off?

FWIW, Yale played a scrimmage game against Brown before coming to Kerr. get em is correct. Colgate makes the opponent's defensive coach's job very easy, and Hunt has to raise his and the team's expectations. Regarding QB's, we know Melville's strength's and weaknesses. Mooney's performance last year was under difficult circumstances. At the least, I would like to see another QB get a chance should Colgate get in a comfortable game position. There is benefit in giving players on the bench some game experience.

sadly they did NOTHING to replace what Pavalko brought to the O I have seen nothing but missed blocks and dropped passes from that position!!
