Until we see our frosh we have no idea what the future brings. Maybe there is some real cream there that will rise to the top quickly. The fact that guys are leaving our program to try the pros is a double edged sword. Since Chris Wagner left it has shown others that you can go to Colgate and get noticed. At the same time it has attracted guys who want Colgate as a stepping stone not necessarily an education. We are not used to that and Coach V has to start identifying which recruits are which...and making choices based on that. He should not be annoyed if someone leaves unless that player lied to him...

On the issue of whether the season is too long, it is if we have an undefeated or really competitive football team which has some attention taken away from it by hockey early on, but that has not been the case lately and given basketball is "iffy" at best it offers one generally over 500 team to root for until lacrosse starts when again we can have some confidence they will be generally pretty good as well...

If we get ANY kind of injury bug you can bet your fanny the season will be too long...one once we are competing with one hand tied behind our back and there's no rationale reason for it...
