dear i know we've been through the droughts
and floods to come unto your fertile plains
and with every twist of my sinews and wrist
brings the longing i've held in a prismatic feign
as the cigarette burns and stale coal ashes
rescind inside your dark salvation
and sometimes i wonder why the looking glass
has such false obsession with things that don't last

dear i know life hasn't dealt you aces
when the lost cards of fortune come reckoning
yet so long as your radiant presence is near
my love shall always remain beckoning
but can your resolve withstand the loose shrapnel
from the bombs of barren words and mined thoughts
and sometimes i wonder why his ambition
so often wanes to a mere apparition

dear i know how the chemical agents react
for the eye is the human's antagonist
when beauty becomes a matter of figures
as versed by the myraid scientists
but is your intention to leave me alone
while i stand up and take pride in saying your name
and sometimes i wonder why she acts so brash
upon feeling the first signs of love's rash

dear i know only that my eyes are for you
and your valleys and peaks that curve subtly
because after all lies are conceded and lost
my affection for you comes indefinitely
but caressing ideas has always been a bad habit
when failing to make the unreal tangible
and sometimes i wonder why we're put away
in a cardboard box of inhibition to stay

Tell me what you think.
