Get some class, ladies. Give Melissa a chance. She is her own person and is trying to be firm and get this thing off the ground. Stop bashing her already. If you didn't win before, then wipe the slate clean and show 'em what you can do. There's no excuse now. New owner, new everything, so stop whining and go try to win it .Show everyone that you should have won before, and then you really have a victory. Stop using Hooks as an excuse for losing. Re: Every year with various pageant, ladies try to warn others about pageants. As par for the course, a couple of queens and the director bullies, calls them losers, etc. From what I recall, Melissa and Michelle worked hand in hand for years. The ugliness after that last pageant was taken to the extremes. It went on for months, and the comments were the nastiest I've seen. As a reigning queen, I didn't appreciate the ugliness. I had done the pageant once before and didn't win, so when I did win last year I was so excited. Then, I read all of the ugliness on these boards. I had seen ugliness before, but NEVER to that degree. In spite of all the ugliness, I did have a good year, but that's because I'm a very determined person, and I realized that, in the end, the only person I could control is myself. and I did the same. But it was downright nasty, all because of a poorly organized pageant. The queens got harassed and it wasn't their fault the thing was awful. They all had to keep their chins up and smile, while the world was bashing their win. This program once had great prestige and was a highly competitive title, but it went to the dogs.
