Subject: Re: it's not if you have experience, it's if you have sense, have ethics, think about the contestant's point of view, and put yourself in her place. Lately, it's the judges panels that are killing these things, so be careful. Set your rules, stick to them, do not change things, keep it simple, short, stop the optionals, stop the 100 divisions, have a great sash and crown, and do it!

Thanks for the advice. I definitely have sense, and will not back down from the rules I set for my pageant. I think that being a former contestant in both good and bad pageants gives me the right perspective to ensure the contestants get a good, short, fair, and fun competition experience.

you sound like you have it on the ball already. If you have competed, then you have been on the inside, and that is number one in my book. You KNOW what we want. You've heard and read all the complaints. Be true, be honest, do your best to make it first class, even if it's small and short. Make it QUALITY, not quantity. We dont need trips and outings, we need solid fun, competition, and great marketing. We need a director that CAREs and doesn't drop the ball after the pageant and forget us. Keep your promises, offer a couple NICE prizes, no need for a boat load of junk. Make it reputable, desirable, and the highest integrity you can hold on to.been to all of them02:24:47 07/04/12 Wed
