Shula realizes that few of his words have reached the other pack leader, and his ears flatten tighly as the enemy surges forward to mutilate his own pack. He knows that Atumi will take care of those who can use energy. He knows that the Korats in the direct path of this first blow will dodge. And he knows that his speed, as excellent for a red as it is, will not serve him at all against Eciwis. Dyone.

Atumi... Tew's soprano stumbles unsteadily into the black's mind. Good luck, brother. Thanks for... yeah. I'll try to keep Shula alive... The tan lurches more upright, staggers away from the black 'second-- then blue eyes suddenly lock onto the blur of flesh that is Eciwis. All pretense of graceless weakness is dropped as the male simply erupts into a leaping run from branch to bough, and before one could even blink, his foreclaws are a millimeter from the other pack leader's flesh and his blade, teeth, and hindclaws are lashing out in one whirlwind of raw speed. After all, Tew is a tan master, despite his youth. His top running speed is likely near 400 mph, the highest of the high. He spars with Atumi and Shula for fun.

Eciwis, even though she wants to fight Shula himself, is going to have a hard time shaking the doggedly determined 'second.
