My name is Joe, I live in Japan but from Alaska. When I needed a mobile mill years ago, I used many types, and for various reasons, economy, ease of use, ease of maintainance, and portability, the "Mobile Deminsion Mill" was by far the best one that was available. Power is by VW engine, so parts are available anywhere in the world. The blads are smaller cirle type, so can be sharpened on site, or teeth replaced quickly and this will be very important to you in the bush. The mill is light, and will cut any size log. because of the design, there is a maximum size of lumber you can cut (6 x 12 with the small blades, and I think 8 x 14 with hte bigger blades) BUT there is honestly NO TREE TOO BIG for it to cut. It rides on top of the tree, so you can cut anything. It breaks into pieces, or is trailorable. I don't know the factory address, but I bet you can find a home page. I recommed it highly.
Don't go with a band type. The brochures all look good, but unless your logs are completely clean, no rocks, dirt or dust (yes, even dust) the blades become dull so fast, and then you will have trouble. Stick to blade type mills. For re-saw, yes band is OK, but the main bull work? Blade mill.

I need to buy saw mill for cuting house logs. I build Log Homes and the Mobil Demision saw seems to be the best one.
