His grandfather paddled both of us for "playing around" after bedtime (of 9:00pm.) It was the last time I spent the night there. He would come to my house from then on. No, we got no warning. He came in, got the paddle out of the closet, had us roll on our bellies and whacked us each three times on our bottoms. The gentleman has since passed so I am cautious to speak ill of him but he was sort of a mean guy. He did not like his daughter and grandson having to live with them. He was also very old fashioned and strict. He also had no concept that his grandson was 13. He and any of us who visited were treated like we were still 8. My friend now has a MUCH better situation.
