But, we all go to a private school and except for gym class we have super small classes. My biggest class last year was eight other kids and me. So, it's kind of hard to get in trouble in class. The issue of corporal punishment of pupils varies widely from state to state and even from town to town for publicly-funded schools. However, private schools, particularly those with religious connections are able to use physical correction.

In the state where I live, were a teacher to use corporal punishment, felony charges could be filed and successfully prosecuted. In fact, this happened just a year or two ago.

My school starts Aug. 13. I'm in the 8th grade. I got my class schedule in the mail this week! I got a big package of papers with it. It has the student handbook and a bunch of forms for my Mom and Dad that they have to sign.

One form is to let the principal paddle me if I get sent to the office. I didn't get paddled at school last year, and my parents are still talking about if they're going to sign the form this year. Dad said they should sign it but Mom isn't sure yet. I hope they don't sign it because I got swats at school in 5th and 6th grade and it hurt bad!

Our school does spank and i have been paddled at school before. it once was for skipping class and once for fighting. i also got suspended for the fighting as well as paddled. that was bad. Spankings at school are against the law in my state, but last year I got two Saturday detentions for texting while at school.
