I have already chosen my nest-mate, and we have been quite happy together thus far. My nest-mate is of the same gender as I, and while it isn't good from a reproductive point of view, we have spoken to the Spirits- they support us, and actually ARE going to grant my mate and I a child. It just won't come about in the traditional sense.
