OK, lets see..... the combined marks on my head translate to Guardian in my language. the black flame....

the black flame was a symbol of devotion to ones role in life. thats why Ruyan has the mark on his cheek, and the uniform with black flamed on it.... the spirits thought he was good at what he did. and these markings in the center....
~+~*she ran her hand over them, traceing each line and mark with her fingers.*~+~
...they translate to "Rebirth to the Torn Sky" if you combine them...... its an old folk tale in my colony. i believe that it may follow here, but i am not sure....

perhaps you would like to hear it?? forgive me if i dont get it exactly right, i havent heard it since i was 6...
Deep in a forest, there sat an egg. Guarding it was a Gryphon, a Dragon, and a Unicorn. the Dragon argued, "I should protect it! This is a Dragons Egg!"
the Gryphon protested, "This is a Gryphons egg, I made it myself!"
The Unicorn shook its head, and added, "You are both wrong. This egg was placed here by Unicorn!"
The three went on and on into the night, argueing about who the egg belonged to and who should watch it. Dawn came, breaking the night, as the three continued to bellow at each other.
"Its mine!" they all argued, with personal reasoning. For the unicorn, it was because the egg was white and pure, just like the magnificent stallion. For the Gryphon, it was strong yet fragile, like the eagle. For the Dragon, it was powerful yet wise, like the serpent. Their frets got so loud, the sky above them could no longer stand it, and it split over them. A darkness descended down onto the three, all of whom refused to leave the egg. At the last moments, all three of them decided that they no longer wanted the egg, and turned tail to flee. The shell on the egg cracked, and out flew a mighty bird of fire; the first of its kind, to the knowledge of the three. The Mighty bird sheltered its guardians with its wings, keeping the darkness away for three long years, until the sky returned. Spreading its wings, the bird flew up to greet the sky, scorshing it in place with the flames upon its body. The smoke covered the land, createing the first clouds. Then, the bird burnt into flames, and vanished. Later, its guardians all tried to take credit for raising the bird. They argued to their deaths, after dubbing the bird with the name, Phoenix.
i know that its not exactly like what is happening now, but the sky splitting and darkness descending..... it seems to fit.
