Subject: Rear spring rotation affects ride height...

Wierd.

I went to the dealer today to pick up the thinner rear spring pads that I ordered last week but they didn't have. When I got back home, I had like 45 min before I had to leave for work, so I tried to throw them in the car real quick. The springs were being bitchy, so no dice.

When I took out the old springs (last week), I made a mental note that the end of the coil (last half of it) was on the front half of the spring perch, I hope that made sense. When I installed the new ones, I only put one back that way (forgot about it when I was doing the other side). I only really checked out my car in my driveway and the side with the coil rotated the correct way seemed to sit lower than the other side. I chalked that up to my driveway being stone, and maybe the one side was in a hole or something.

I rotated the "wrongly installed" spring this morning so that it was correct, and now the car looks lower! I'd say about 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch! I didn't think it would affect it that much. The car rides the same though.

Anyone else have an experience similar to that?
