wow, thanks so much dave, this is awesome. i wonder if gus will even notice...

As for maintaining the original articles from the old site, i think a solution to that would be to make a DIY subforum, and have all the old articles posted there in individual threads. I think that will encourage more people to share their own DIY projects on the site rather than having them all on a non-forum page. this way people can also reply to the DIY which would just be the first post(s) in a particular thread.
