hello,
yes, you just poke them through. a little bit of me died every time i poked through my leather, which is in excellent condition. no going back...once you poke them through, you can access the back insides of the seats, and bend the pins so they don't come out, but i didn't bother. they're stuck in really good. also, be sure you know that the rear seat pins are smaller than the fronts, and a different number.

fronts: 52-10-1-927-000
rears: 52-20-1-927-590

they cost about $10 each from the dealer, so i full set of 4 would be about $40.
