Subject: I`ve never seen so many E30 M3`s in one place!

Just to make you all jealous 8-) I went to a track event today where there were 20+ E30 M3`s attending in all shapes and forms. convertibles, coupes, cars running on slicks and one stripped and fully track prepped car also running on slicks. Ahhhhh, heaven. There was also a 320iS there too, nice E30 but a shame it looked like it needed a bit of TLC. Other cars included some nice classics like 2002tii`s, a stripped out 1978 5 series which was going very well, a NO2 injected V12 850 and loads of other E30`s and E36`s.

Lots of good driving, despite it being non-competitive there were still some battles going on. Like E30 M3 vs the latest model M5. They both stayed about even, the M5 was faster on one of the long straights providing he got a good corner exit, but if the M3 got a sniff of his rear through the corners he was doing extra well along the straight. I should say here that the M5 was probably std but the M3 probably had at least a stiffened suspension.
I actually was expecting a bit more of the cars on slicks. To be fair they were quick but I was expecting a bit more to be honest. Maybe it was the drivers, just maybe it was a case of "if you can`t drive fast around corners get more grip (slicks)" :).
In the afternoon there was an E28 M5 going round very quickly, it even flew past an E30 M3 and soon built up a gap but then suddenly I saw this silver E30 M3 catching up and I was just amazed at how fast the car was taking a chicane and he wasn1t on slicks(I looked over the car later). He was taking it so quickly, when he hit a little bump on the exit apex the unloaded front wheel was coming off the ground, even without that taken into consideration I could just see he was going so much faster through there than everyone else and the car still looked pretty stable.
