Subject: chip problem!!!!!!!!!!!or not!!!!!!!

I put in the jc chip into my 86 eta and I found that the chip that was in it already was an eurosport bonneville motorwerks chip. Now i 've had the car for 2 years and i used 87 the whole time now could i have damaged anything or was the chip stock like that or did maybe the previous owner put it in as a replacement due to bad ecu chip i dont know but i do feel a big difference anyway but was curious ?
Thanks to all that reply!
