Does anybody know why the state auditor has been working at the Town of Alexandria municipal building for over 6 months? Rumor has it that they must have found something or they would have been gone long ago. Maybe they are trying to figure out where all the unaccounted for gasoline went for the last ??? years.

Who's responsible for the fuel distribution documentation at the highway barn? I would think the elected highway superintendent or supervisor. Has a new system been put in or by what method are they tracking the gallon usage? Someone needs to call the supervisor!!

Don't know how it works but about two months ago they put a new key system in at the gas pump and only those with keys and codes can fill-up. Before it was much easier and any of us could just fill-up anytime and write it down on a pad. An expensive change that probably wasn't necessary.

Hey, I just got a email link to this page and I have tons of questions about the village of ABay. What is happening with this rink guy(heard he has been getting paid for the last two months but not working! You got to be kidding !! Also now common knowledge that he was in similar trouble with another village employee two years ago, but they covered it up. Wow, what a can of worms. That creates big time liability and a legal no-no.

I get snow plowed on my sidewalk all the time along with my neighbors. We all shovel or snowblow it as everyone else does except cummings. Because he's a crying blogger, Mr Bain says if u grease my hand for re-election I'll grease yours. Those town plow truck operators where only doing as Mr. Bain had specifically told them.
I'd like to know what is with this village, why do they have an ordinance to keep all sidewalks cleared and they don't enforce it. No backbone and no consistency.
Thank god election time is just around the corner.

- Posting of foilable information -- Anonymous, Thursday, January 10, 08:50:54am [1]
To the moderators of this forum I am asking if I send u village and town information that I get through the foil process will u post it. I already have some information I foiled and am seeking alot more. Topics of interest to me and others are numerous, but begin with cost of health insurance and which town/village full-time and part-time employees recieve it. Also I am interested in this so called local law # 2 that gives elected and appointed employees(and their families) of the town complete health insurance for life. Yes, insurance forever(past 65) and if the employee passes, the family still retains the health insurance. Another very controversial topic is the stipends that various officials receive in addition to their normal pay. When the stipends(extra pay) were added to certain positions there was no increase in the hours the officials worked. Doesn't make sense to me and appears to be a con job on the taxpayers.
Most importantly, who is responsible for the creation and passing of such blatant self-motivated laws. We all need to know this before the next election so we can vote accordingly. All of the true facts need to get out in the open and this appears to be a good blog to exercise that. Thank you for listening and I'll be awaiting your reply.

Really, really! How bout some new faces and someone who cares about the town and not their own self-centered needs! Sampie and Millett have only lined their own pockets with life time health insurance and personal vacation accommadations at the expense of town/taxpayers money! How many taxpayers know that! How many taxpayers out there have health insurance for life when they retire from a less than part time job?!!! I think my taxes should benefit the whole town and not just a select few! So, please don't Even consider these people!

I don't understand the village's priorities, does anyone else? Why would the village pay workers to clear snow last sat(1/5) and sun(1/6), (probably overtime pay) and not clear the snow on Bolton ave which is our heaviest traveled street and sidewalks (SCHOOL)? Yet, they had totally cleared the snow banks and sidewalks downtown from Josies Pizza around to The Corner and Skiffs. Bolton didn't get done till thurs or fri the next week.

- Town of Alexandria Board Decision -- Anonymous, Sunday, January 13, 10:04:44pm [1]
To the Town of Alexandria concerning replacement of Councilman James Durand.
I think the replacement of the councilman should be a person that is not a businessman in the Town or the Village of Alexandria Bay. He or she should be reviewed to be open minded to all of the problems that are being brought forward in the last years. This person should not, either Republican, Democrat or Independent, show favortism to any other board members in bringing these problems to a closure. I am not ...---...???
This is a time to realize the truth.

Alexandria could save $150,000. to $250,000. per year by going to a high deductible health plan as the village has and clayton has. Some in the town tried to last year but got warned not to go there. WTF

I think the town should ask each one interested in the vacant position to in writing describe what they feel are the most critical areas of the budget that need cutting (ie, health insurance and stipends) and what ideas they have for keeping revenues constant or ways to increase them(with out increasing debt or payroll/other expenses, ie. bumper cars were job security by the one who proposed them).

This comes from Jim Cummings Facebook post on January 21st. From what I hear he was doing everything he could tonight to support Beaudin (apparently Beaudin is also Williams official spokesperson, cat got your tongue Doug). - The Truth Is This!!! -- Anonymous, Sunday, February 03, 04:51:29pm [1]
There have been many good questions and comments posted here on this website along with many others posted on Jim Cummings' site and the Watertown craig's list site concerning the politics of the Town of Alexandria. Politics??? I call it greed!!!
It's difficult for some to come forward with what they know due to possible repercussions. That includes myself. That only supports continued greed. But that's politics.
Many names have been thrown under the bus and for due cause. There are some things that even I am unaware of but the most important lesson here is that the taxpayers of this and other towns get involved! If you want to complain, get involved with your local politics. Go to board meetings! The more...the merrier!!!
The following people have all had their own agenda for years: Sampie Sutton (previous Town Supervisor) instituted a health plan for himself and I believe for his spouse and helped himself to the taxpayers fuel for both vehicles in the name of duty! What else?...Alcid Beaudin and Doug Williams (both current town board members) along with the Town clerk (Ellen Peck) and Dave Bain (current Highway Superintendent) among others, instituted a Local Law #2 to help themselves to a gratifying health insurance package upon retirement at the taxpayers expense. This package also includes their spouses and disabled family members until their deaths(passing...sorry). They all get lucrative pay for the positions they hold and some get stipends for other so called responsibilities they hold. Salaries can be found through the county. Stipends are not reported and they are plentiful.
I could go on and on but the most important purpose of this blog is to try and get people involved! Don't wait for the next guy to do something or to speak up. Most of the forementioned are on power trips of their own. Don't let them bully you into their logic. Their interested in one thing,,,themselves. Their not interested in your hard work or your tax dollars.
We currently have a town supervisor (Dale Hunneyman) along with one board member (Brent Sweet) whom I believe are trying diligently to change the ways of practice of our township. They need support if we want CHANGE!!!
I congratulate all those who have posted their concerns and hope it continues. It must!!!
We'll see what the latest AUDIT has to say about the shoddy doings in this township over the last several years, if anything. I understand a considerable amount of paperwork was shredded in various places prior to the AUDIT. Does that tell you something???
I'll be watching future posts. Thanks for listening!!
A concerned taxpayer

- Cummings Lies -- Anonymous, Monday, February 04, 07:14:54pm [1]
In the text below I will provide evidence that proves ABay Circus LIES!
Jim Cummings said to Dean Erck on facebook and circus LIES =
"Be careful of that older town republican committee....and I can name them for you.... sutton simpson sweet parker thomson durand[john].......not all of them get along as well as they used to....but they are like siblings that fight among each other......if an outsider jumps in on the fight th_y stop fighting with each other and gang up on the outsider.... You, Me anybody "
Cummings, you connive daily with Alcid at his garage and Alcid knows everyone on the republican committee. James, why would you knowingly say the wrong names? Because it makes a better story in your mind, "THE LIAR'S WAY" !
The republican committee has been nearly the same for years and ABay Circus Lies only got one (1) name correct. That surely is a blog I'd want to rely on for information ! I'm sure you all are noticing Cumming's LIES have an obvious pattern and purpose.

- Weekends off? -- Anonymous, Tuesday, February 05, 08:53:54pm [1]
On Saturday, February 2nd, during one of the heaviest snowfalls of this season, I happened to be driving by Mr. Bain's house and noticed his white Town of Alexandria truck sitting in his driveway. It was covered with snow and there wasn't any sign that it had moved from the spot that he parked it Friday afternoon. Shortly after passing Mr. Bain's house, I met a Town of Alexandria snow plow. Mr. Bain must have had the day off?! After looking into this matter, I discovered that Mr. Bain CHOOSES not to work every weekend. As a matter of fact, Andrew Davis, the Deputy Supervisor, was the one who inspected the roads and called in the crew. I am not aware of any other town that allows the supervisor to decided when he will or will not work when the weather is bad - this includes weekends. Maybe Mr. Bain expects an additional stipend to do what all the other town supervisors do?! I think NOT! It is time for a change! Vote in November!

- Re: Weekends off? -- Anonymous, Wednesday, February 06, 08:31:33pm [1]
Mr. Bain--Like any good run company or organization (in this case our town roads) has what any indivdual with common sense has a CHAIN OF COMMAND. He does not have week-ends off. I don't know where you come up with this information BUT you are WRONG. The town plows and sands "70" miles of town---"34" miles of county---and "14" miles of state roads and does a very good job. We very much APPRECIATE the fine job he and the employees have done for us.

- Re: Weekends off? -- Anonymous, Sunday, February 10, 04:03:01pm [1]
I beg your pardon 2/6, 8:31 But Mr. Bain has had every other weekend off since fall or November. Not sure we he started the new schedule but the red/blk chevy has been manned every other weekend with the assistant highway super out doing the elected full time $73k (plus lots of bennies) superintendents job.
What does the mileage of the roads the town plows and sands have to do with anything. Big deal, other towns do the same or more with less equipment and partimers which they don't have to pay benefits to. A HUGE savings to their town. Also many nearby towns use part-timers for their nite crew not full timers with benefits as Alexandria does.

- Lifetime Health Insurance -- Anonymous, Wednesday, February 20, 05:54:56am [1]
Elected officials & appointed officials recieve insurance only if they meet the retirenment requirements and have a min. of 20years or more. The premium is approx.$6,000.00 per year and the official pays a copay amount according to their years of service (20 years or more.) This is not a family plan. The rates you are refering to of $26,000.00 is for a family plan for the working teamsters.
[ Post a Reply to this Message ][ Edit | View ]
- Re: Lifetime Health Insurance -- Anonymous, Wednesday, February 20, 11:26:29pm [1]
You need to use accurate numbers and facts here sir, Correct me if I am wrong but if the elected or appointed official retires or does not get re-elected before they are 65 years old then they get(Local Law #2) health insurance for them and their spouse and or family depending what plan they are on for the two years prior to their retirement or leaving. Consequently if you have been there for 20 yrs and leave for whatever reason you could get a family plan valued at $26,500. per year or if it's just one person and their spouse the value of the benefit received is $19,500. per year. Yes they would pay a (measilly)copay of 15% per year of the above premiums. Still huge costs to the town!
P.S.: In the very near future ALEXANDRIA will have 6 (SIX) new elected or appointed officials(add them up) taking advantage of Local Law # 2. Fiquring two person plans after copay that would be an additional cost to the town of $98,537. per year. Those premiums are predicted to go up about 10% per year or almost a $10,000. per year increase. That converts to alot of tax dollars.
P. S. II: Correction II= The $26,000. family plan you talk about is not for just working teamsters but all town employees getting family coverage.

Dear 2/20 5:54 ,
$6,000. per year minus the copay is WRONG(not even close)!
You had better put new batteries in your calculater and update your fiqures. Also, ALL town employees(not just union workers) are eligible for a family health plan(at the same $26,000 cost) if they so desire and need!

- Saving Taxpayers Dollars -- Anonymous, Wednesday, March 13, 10:52:32pm [1]
I was recently made aware that our town highway superintendent Mr. King-Bully-Bain does not want to save the taxpayers money by not filling one or two of the retirees positions at the town barn. We the public, need to have imput on this issue as many at the coffee shop and local garage, talk about the current over abundance of workers at the highway dept, dump and rink(off-season). There is currently a petition circulating the area in reference to this issue. More petitions have been popping up at local businesses for us to read and sign. If we have employees retireing what better time to save us taxpayers money than right now. We need to stop K-B-B from doing what he wants and speak out. We can also save lots of our taxpayer dollars by not re-electing him to office and starting new with a much lower paid highway superintendent. Is it necessary for Alexandria to have the highest paid(with benefits) town clerk, highway superintendent and rink superintendent(year-round) in the county? The town board and these three positions have made sure they are taken care of for life but the people who do the real work 7 days a week, day or night get squat and are kicked to the gutter at retirement!
SPEAK UP: IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE !

There was an informational fire meeting with Dave Bain, Jamie Papin, Dale Hunneyman, Andrew Davis, and local firemen held 3/13/13 at the Town Office. After reading over the papers given out by Dave Bain, The Deputy
Superintendant's contact information was incorrect. To all firemen please take note Andrew's CORRECT phone number is 681-3749.I found this out after the meeting last night and found it interesting that all other numbers were correct except Andrew's. How convenient Mr.Bain, so when Bain doesnt answer his phone we cant get ahold of the Deputy either, are we playing games? It seems to me that Bain is doing whatever he can to keep his job. I hope everyone remembers to vote for Andrew Davis this election and say goodbye to Mr. Bain. Time for change. It is hard to believe what goes on in this town.

You’re correct it is time for a change. The Republican Party committee, democratic committee, and the town board. It will start with signing petitions; there will be ones to sign and ones not to sign. It also appears local law #2 has no grandfather, or retro clause in it, meaning those getting benefits under it that left their positions prior to its signing on July 8 2009 shouldn't be, costing the town taxpayers thousands.

Just a clarification : The union member retirees from the Town of Alexandria Town Barn Crew do NOT receive lifetime payment of their insurance. They do get a reimbursement amount from the Town which varies depending on time worked which is a small percentage of what it costs. They must provide their own coverage where ever they can get it at an affordable rate - the cost of Teamster's own retirement policy very costly !! Up to $1500. per month. So please do not assume that the worker bees receive the same benefits as the Good Old Boyz.
