Well, the guys definitely rocked the house here in the Capital of the Confederacy tonight! They sounded great, although Matt's drum set was giving him fits--the main part of the kit was wobbling so badly that the drum tech and later Spider literally had to hold the bass drum in place during the early part of the show. There was a loud, rowdy crowd cheering them on, and the guys were completely feeding off our enthusiasm. This was my first experience with the medleys--"Riders On The Storm" during "Take Me To The Top" and "Come Together" and "Superstition" during "Loving Every Minute Of It--and it was way cool. Of course, a bunch of us diehards hung around after the show ended, and Paul was nice enough to invite us into the backstage area. And after 20 years of fandom, I FINALLY got to meet Doug and Matt! Matt was kind of terse because of the drum situation (understandable), but Doug was a lot of fun to talk to. Paul and Spider were also milling around--Spider roared when I told him I used to play Streetheart's "Under Heaven Over Hell" on my college radio station back in the mid-eighties! I didn't get a chance to greet Mike, but no biggie. I hadn't seen them since 1998, so I enjoyed myself and met a bunch of cool people (hi, Tara and Jamilla!). They're putting on a great show this time around, so don't miss it!
