May 12,2001 will always stay present in my mind!
On this day my all time wish came true.
My hubby ,my nephew and I went to Loverboy's Dallas
show.
It was amazing , more like too good to be true!!
Out of the blue I meet a woman at the gate we start
talking and she says would ya'll like to sit with us in
the front row? I was in total shock and said yes!!!!!
The band started out with Notorious, I totally went nuts so did the my new friend Denise. I forgot all about my hubby and my nephew and we went up to the gate to get closer.
Then to our suprise Take Me To The Top was next ,then When It's Over, then Mike dedicates Lovin Every Minute,to all the moms ,suddenly he turns to me, which by the way I was really loud singing along . And says "You Know I Have Three kids and holds up three fingers , I yelled I know a son and twin girls and he just smiles, I was melting by this time my makeup is running because I am so emotional yes I had the fumes I was crying!!! I admit it.I yelled I don't have any kids! , and he makes a sad face , I could'nt believe he was talking to me . The Kid Is Hot Tonight, Lucky Ones, Hot Girls In Love,Working For The Weekend. It was amazing!
By this time I was all out of film , I had no idea I was going to meet them later . It was the end of the concert I did'nt want it to end so I told my hubby I'm going to meet the band he lookes at me like I just went nuts which by this time I was .LOL Denise my new friend follows us and we go up to the gate , we happen to see Doug walking out so we called out his name he came right over to us and we introduced ourselves we gave him a hug !!!!!! he turns to my nephew says hi and shakes his hand and asks if he enjoyed the show and bless his heart my nephew tells him "I have to listen to your music in her car everytime I ride in it" and Doug just laughs, ya'll did not tell me these guys were so down to earth, they are not like other bands .
Then Spider is walking by we got to meet him too, he is the same way very attentive, and patient ,listening to us, he signs my hair lisence and my ticket stubbs ,yes now whenever someone sits in my station at the salon they will see this precious autograph. We askes Spider if he would ask Mike to come over to us and he did ,, and Mike came over to us this is where I lost it , I could'nt believe he was standing infront of me. He askes where we were from Denise said Dallas and I said Houston . Mike says " you came all the way from Houston?how many hrs is it from here?"I told him, and he said wow that is a long way.
Anyway he is so attentive to what we are saying not stuck up at all like other bands . I asked him for his autograph and he looks at my lisence and says what's this , I said it's all I have it's my state lisence to cut hair LOL he laughs and says are you sure? I said yes!! he signs it I am so blownaway . I asked him about Loverboy shirts because my husband could'nt find me one and Mike said they are waiting for Live ,Loud and Loose to come out before they get any , so by this time my husband just buys one to keep my sane , he buys a America tshirt and I asked Mike if that was ok because all they had left was the band America and he says ofcourse I'll sign it it's ok. So now I have a framed America tshirt with Mike Reno's autograph on it. Anywaywe are talking while he is autographing it I ask him if he ever reads this messege board and he says "yes I do read it".That answer blew me away! He takes the time to read all about our passions for the band !!!He too shook my nephew's hand and asked him if he had a good time. I had to get his autograph on one more thing so I had beg Fredrick my nephew for his Texas Longhorns cap , I told him I would do anything he asked me to , he says get a dirt bike I said yes ok it's yours and this too funny Mike turns to him and tell him to get it in writing before he signs his name on his cap. That was too cute.
We met Matt next, he too autographed the cap my nephew gave me. He says hello we start talking , my new friend Denise tells him he inspired her to play drums way bach when so he goes back and gets his drum sticks for her , he tooks the time to write on them for her , she was in tears.
I know I have made this long but I wanted to share this with you all just like you have shared your times with the band with me.
It was the best day of my entire life!!
Mike you said you do read this messege forum , I wanted you to know I did get my nephew that dirt bike he wanted in exchange for his cap that you wrote those precious words on . I got a glass case for it this morning.
