I totally agree w/Kathleen.....I remember (Lovin every minute of it tour) MTV doing a huge promo where a lucky person can win a trip to meet Loverboy at some wonderful destination....Back in those days, MTV and the record companies were in Loverboys corner....It is interesting to note that a majority of the 80s bands were simply ignored as the 80s turned into the 90s....I cannot stand MTV and do not enjoy the garbage that i being aired...
From a local perspective, Loverboy was sponsored by KGON (the local rock station-classic-here in Portland for the last 20 something years) when they played at the Washington county fair on 7/24/01....Anyway, some guy from KGON was asking Loverboy trivia questions prior to the show (for a free kgon key chain) and asked me a couple of questions....One question was who was Loverboy before they became Loverboy.....Well any true Loverboy fans know that they started as Loverboy although they were considering naming the band Coverboy....Well i tried to tell this guy and he said nope try again....So i threw out the name Moxy and he said right on....Anyway, i had to inform him that Reno was the only one in Moxy...Also, i could not help asking him why KGON is sponsoring the show as they NEVER play any Loverboy tunes.....I dont know how many times i requested songs....So it is not just MTV but others as well....
