The term Zionist has become a pejorative. Zionists are painted as racists, terrorists, and colonialists and are accused of approving a kind of apartheid against Palestinians. This trash is actually being taught by radical professors in many of our universities.We hear the term Zionist used hatefully on local public access TV. The term Zionist is spit out by anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers as a code word for "kike"...and worse. We Jews have heard them all.
Zionism is the liberation movement of the Jewish people which holds that Jews are entitled to a homeland of their own. Zionists consider Israel to be the one nation that is the haven of last resort for all Jews who desire or need to go there. Israel was the land of the Jews long before there were Arabs there. This claim dates back to the Old Testament. The Jewish religion predates Islam by millennia. The Palestinians are an invented faction created by the British occupiers and the UN. They have never been a nation, were rejected by their natural homeland, Jordan, and are refused a homeland within Jordan’s borders or within any other Arab nation.

Mr Baillie is very perceptive, according to real history the group he refers to has been kicked out of 109 countries, Or, according to some, many more countries. The big question to ask is WHY?.
Apparently the business practices such as Usury and swindling that has been done on a grand scale in America was finally stopped in these countries, unlike America which has ignored it and finally has done something about it, but to late. That they have no history before being "invented" by the British, that Jordan is their "natural homeland", and other such false and demeaning claims are used to try to dehumanize the Palestinians, and to support the notion that they have no valid claim to the land of their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.

This is similar to the notions that Europeans have used for centuries, to try to justify the dispossession by violence of peoples all over the world. The notion that a claim resurrected from thousands of years ago should invalidate the rights of people living on the land for generations is ridiculous, and can hardly be taken seriously in the context of the modern world. I'd say based on the facts that israeli arabs are better off as citizens of israel than they would be of any other arab regional state. That's why more israeli arabs would choose to remain citizens of israel then becoming citizens of palestinian territories. The reason israeli arabs named as their reason to remain citizens of israel: higher wages, healthcare, disability insurance and pensions. Heck the life expectancy of arabs is longer in israel then it is for americans. And years more than for african americans. The infant mortality rate of israeli arabs is lower than it is for african americans and lower than for any arab nation.

There are arab members of the knesset, an arab supreme court justice and arabs serving in the president's cabinet. There are sharia courts for arabs.

Is there discrimination? Of course there is, but we have plenty of discrimination right here at home.« less

Mr. Hurwitz tells us that we should not show bigotry against Jews. Then I see his bigotry against Palestinians fully displayed in his second paragraph.

Yes, I do believe that the descendants of Abraham should have a homeland. I know that the Zionists claim Jews are descendants of Abraham and I won't argue that. However, I do believe that many Arabs, including Palestinians, are also descendants of Abraham, thus are just as entitled to the State of Israel as the Jews are. I like to see Mr. Hurwitz explain on why Palestinians and any other Arabs are not descendants of Abraham.

Let me say this: I do not condone terrorist attacks being perpetrated against civilian targets including the rocket attacks that Hamas routinely launch against Israel.
