Subject: FramGov Civility rules and False information
In reply to: Jim Rizoli 's message, "Welcome" on 18:36:48 05/02/13 Thu

The Rizolis seems to get the owners and the gatekeepers of blogs o always have to change the playing filed to accommodate the slanderous opinions of others who post trying to jab at the Rizoli's so the owners of these list have to always explain the rules again and again. so here are the rules for the Framgov:

Civility and false information on Framgov

From: Linda Dunbrack
Date: 8:14pm, Jun 28

Folks,

Making inflammatory remarks about individuals is not permitted on FramGov, no matter what your personal opinion about their viewpoints and how angry their
comments may make you. I don't want to hand out any more warnings today, so please respect the rules. If you have any comments or complaints about the civility of a specific post, please send them to me off-list, as it is against e-democracy rules to comment on list moderation on-list. I do not read most posts in real time, so I actually appreciate the feedback.

Reminder: Issues, not people, are to be the subject of the debate.

Posters
are expected to show basic respect for others (including participants, member
of the public, and public figures) in their posts, meaning that posting the following is specifically prohibited:

-Personal attacks or threats;
-Name-calling and other forms of personal insults;
-Speculation about the unstated motivations or character of another person;
-Accusations and allegations, either unfounded or based on rumor, about legal
and ethical violations
-Disclosures of personal information and rumors about other participants
related or unrelated to the topic being discussed (e.g., personal health or finances, relationship status, unlisted telephone numbers, etc.);
-Arguments of a personal nature;
-Strongly inflamed speech targeted at an individual or group of people.

Thank you.

Advocates get passionate about their causes, and don't always see information
with an objective eye. I don't assume that inaccurate information is posted on
purpose.

Here are the rules about posting false information:

...Your posts must be accurate based on your full knowledge and never
intentionally false. Unverified "grapevine" information of a public nature
must be within a forum's issue-based scope to be appropriate. You must correct
your previous expressions of "known" information via the forum that you later
find it to be false or substantially incorrect. Exceptions include assertions
already publicly corrected or clarified by others in forum discussions.
Corrections must be made within any daily posting limit or via the Forum
Manager if urgent. You and you alone are liable for the content that you post.

In general, I have found that misleading information is being corrected by
others in the forum, which is sufficient under the rules.

If you notice something that violates these rules, let me know. I generally am
not policing it, so you need to draw potential violations to my attention.
