Hello Harvey ~

For sure it's not easy to cleanly split a bar of Ivory or Dove soap down the middle. What I found works best is to use a serrated edge knife - like a steak knife - and carefully saw down the middle of the soap. Carefully is the operative word here, and I found it helps if you keep cutting in one direction, i.e. consistently pulling the blade towards yourself.

Once you've split the bar, switch to a smaller paring knife to whittle the soap into the shape you desire. Cut gently, because soap can easily break with too much pressure.

Then boil up some water, place your newly formed soap suppositories in, and let them sit for ar least 30 minutes. Then insert and enjoy.

Wouldn't it be fun if I could go on one of those morning news programs like the Today Show and provide a demonstration? :D
