I got enemas from before I can remember until I was maybe 7 or so. I base this on memories of getting enemas at various places where we lived when I was small. My mom was a nurse and had a 4 oz enema bulb that was used on me when I had constipation.

I don't recall getting many enemas from mom and what I do recall about them is that I was bent over her lap while she sat on the toilet and my head was hanging down, partway to the floor, with the blood rushing to my head. I don't really recall disliking the enema or expelling, but I do remember not liking being upside down.

I know from reading medical books that having the child's butt elevated helps the enema flow higher into the large intestine, but I hate being upside down.

Eventually, I was given the option of foul tasting stool softener or the enema and took the stool softener. I don't recall being given an enema after we moved to another house when I was 7.

As a teen, I used the rubber bulb on myself for purposes other than constipation relief when my parents were away and as an adult got a bag enema from Walgreens for constipation relief and other relief. I didn't discuss enemas with my wife other than as a joke, to which she always replied "Yuck" or similar

Until one day about 10 years ago...

We were in our 60s and my wife has always had bowel issues, IBS and other problems. Normally, she has frequent movements, but sometimes will take Immodium to regulate her problems and that can cause her to get bunged up.

On the day in question, I came in from doing something outside and heard cries of distress from the bathroom. She was trying to go, but nothing was coming out. I offered to give her an enema. She was desperate enough to say, "YES!!", so I fetched the bag, filled it with warm water and filled her up as much as she could take before insisting I let her sit.

The floodgates were opened and relief was immediate. She was thankful for the help and apologized for making me do something so disgusting.

After years of thinking that giving someone an enema would be erotic, it was, instead, just a medical procedure. I found nothing erotic about it. My wife had not been interested in sex in years, so maybe if we'd tried enemas when we were sexually active, it might have been different, but after being told "NO" 1000 times, I had gotten the message by then and there was nothing sexual or intimate about that enema or infrequent subsequent enemas I've given her.

In fact, I prefer giving her a bottle of prune juice and letting that do its work to dragging out the bag and using it on her.

Sorry if this isn't a Penthouse Forum entry, but the fantasy and reality turned out to be entirely different. I'd read any number of stories on Speculum Pages, alt.sex.enemas and other sites and then, actually giving an enema was about as much fun as watching a nurse start an IV.
