Subject: Just saw that two girls (one teen and one miss) who competed in Miss Georgia OT and Miss Georgia last month, will be competing in Georgia USA because they won a pageant that pays their way to it. What will the backlash be to them if they try and compete in the Miss Georgia program again? Ive heard many boards will not accept you if you do that. True or myth?

There shouldn't be any backlash against them. For the Miss contestant, she's limited the number of locals that she might compete in (since she won't be able to enter any until after GAUSA). For the Teen contestant, she can always enter GAOT at-large anyway. (NT)No name07:49:43 07/14/13 Sun
This is just what ive heard from others; it's an unwritten expectation if you expect to win in the Miss Georgia Scholarship Organization, you have to stay loyal to it throughout your eligibility and if you go to another system, like USA, dont do it until your eligibility is over, much like Julia Martin, Amelia Hunt, Jamie Kelton and others did. Ive seen comments on these boards chastising girls who held titles in other systems or compete in others for also competing in Miss Georgia/OT. Like you can't do both. You can only do MG if you expect to win. They want 100% commitment. Again, just what ive heard from others and I'd like to hear others opinion on the subject. (NT)curious08:05:21 07/14/13 Sun

Kristina Higgins said she was done with MAO, competed in GA USA, then competed in and won Miss Capital City and Miss Georgia the same year. Of course, I don't know how the GA board feels about that now since she gave up the crown. (NT)Leighton Jordan also competed in USA first16:52:55 07/14/13 Sun
Lizzy will do well in GA Teen USA, she is beautiful. She may still be a bit young though.my opinion02:12:22 07/15/13 Mon
GA USA and GA America are one of the few states that doesn't care if you compete in both. Competing in USA system will only make you stronger in America and vice versa. We are lucky to have open minded boards in GANo name12:40:28 07/22/13 Mon
I think it is frowned on if you are actively competing. If you are in between, I don't think it's a big thing. Lizzy was actively competing and doing well. It doesn't make sense for her to do the USA one to me. (NT)No name17:34:04 07/27/13 Sat
