Subject: High Wind/Thunderstorm Leaves Area Without Power

We have seen some high wind storms, some producing tornado
conditions in our lifetimes but, early Friday, July 7, 2017
saw really bad thunderstorms and high winds at different
speeds: some 60, 80, 90 or 100 miles per hour and maybe
high pass through our area and caused damage all over in our areas north and south of us.

Many trees were uprooted, loss of power resulting one, two and three days losses to occur. Our area had power losses from Friday until it came back on 7:15 p.m., Sunday night, July 9.

With it being summertime the loss of electricty for 3-days
was okay because homes didn't have to be heated like in
wintertimes, and refrigerators and freezers were kept closed
so foods would be kept cold and not spoil.

The use of BBQ Grills for cooking came into use, and some
resturants were able to keep power or soon had power restored to cook meals for visiting customers.

We and our families decided to camp and live at Mark's
grandparents' farm for 3-days while power was restored
at our homes. BBQ Grills and some A-1 Cooks on hand
cooked some great meals for everyone to enjoy.

With hot temps. in the mid-80s the lake at the farm
became a welcome/cool-off swimming pool! Even our
girlfriends and their parents came to enjoy the lake
and good meals to eat.

The Minor League Baseball Park we are working at for the
summer was untouched and still had power so baseball
games could be played, so we could work, and enjoy in our
off-times. We even took advantage of using the Home Team
Locker Room Showers, etc. Other people, familes, etc. used
other available sources like schools, community centers, etc.

The only property damage at each of our homes were some
uprooted trees, scattered tree branches but, we saw our
veggie gardens and flower gardens untouched and still
intacted. Also, crop fields untouched and will be harvested when this Fall comes.

After the storms it was neighbors helping neighbors in the clean-up operations around our area, and still believing
we might have been handed some discomforts for a few days,
but we have our health, little damage done to our homes
except maybe a few loose shingles or boards might have taken place but, nothing things that can't be fixed with a little work, and still believing God may have had a purpose
for having the storm come through our area and we still can
say "thank you Lord for NO injuries or deaths to anyone in our area" and everyone working as a Team we will be fine!
