Our District tournament ended last Monday night and we finished in second place. The top two team advance to the Regional tournament, so we qualified for that. The Regional starts next Tuesday evening.
We won our opening game in the District 54-39. It was an easy win and we lead all the way after starting on an 8-0 run. I scored 16 points.
Saturday in the semi finals we won 62-49. This game was close for a while, but we pulled away in the second half. I scored 19 points including three 3-point baskets.
In the championship game Monday night we lost 56-52. The game was up and down for us. They jumped out to a 10-2 lead but we battled back. We fell behind again and were down 17 points at one time, but we came back to tie the game with a minute to play. We exchanged baskets, but they took a two basket lead and were able to hold on. I scored 14 points in this game. Our opponent was a powerhouse ranked 6th in the final state wide poll. They were the number one seed in the District tourney and we were the number two seed.
We have been practicing hard getting ready for our game Tuesday.
