Subject: Sucessful Road Trip

Last weekend my college basketball team hit the road for a two game road trip, we came out on top in both games.

Friday evening we won 89-76. I had a good night scoring 21 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and blocking 2 shots. I made one 3-point shot, 3 free throws and 7 2-point shots. This game was played in a town 70 miles from home, the town is across the river from the town Brooks and Wyatt goes to college. I had quit a few family members come to watch me play, Mom and Dad, Brady and Amber, Brooks and Allison, Wyatt and Kaylee, Cassidy, Zack, Cassie and Ben. It is great playing in front of my family.

We spent the night at local hotel, I had some time to visit with my family, and it was great seeing them. Saturday morning we were up early and made the 115 mile trip to our next game. Saturday’s game was an afternoon game, the varsity tipped off at 3:00.

In Saturday’s game we rolled to a 100-58 victory. I had another good game scoring 24 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and blocking 5 shots. I made two three-point shots, 4 free throws and seven 2-point shots. The game Saturday was about 45 miles from my home town, again my family turned out. I was able to visit with them some, but we packed up and made the drive back to campus Saturday evening. We stopped for dinner and arrived back on campus about 9:45 Saturday evening. It was a good trip.

The JV men’s team made the trip with us, and Jonah was able to play before his family too. Jonah is having a good year playing JV, I am sure he will make varsity next year.

Kala drove to the games too, but Saturday night she stayed at her parent’s house and drove back to campus Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, that meant when we returned to campus Tanner was a lonely boy until Sunday. My Mom sent a container of cookies with her. After my room mates seen them, they didn’t last long.

Kala and I are starting to check out teaching openings for next fall, it is hard to believe I will have a full time job this fall.
