The book was about a river where animals lived or drinked there. Some Indeins named the Nashaway saw the land that was surounding it,and wanted to move there.
When they got there they onley took what they needed,and would ask for forgiveness from the animals they had killed.
One day a "pailled face stranger" came a took over the land. They told the Nashaway not to traspas on their land. The Nashaway had to make a patishen to make the white not polut the water. And the water was cleen agen.
