Perhaps you're thinking of Jerry's uncle Pecos, from the 1955 short "Pecos Pest"; he was singing "Froggy Went a-Courting," and every time he broke a guitar string he'd pull out one of Tom's whiskers to replace it.

I don't know if anyone has a sound file of it, but I do know that that cartoon is in the Spotlight Collection DVD set. Does that help?
