I have posted here before, and have been helped by the kindness of people contacted via this posting. An update.. My son is sponsoring me , I am in Canada on extended stay at the moment, and after a year as a permenant resident I will get my citizenship back...OK so far .. but.. after 2 years we are still stuck at the same date, check out the CIC application times page..it has stayed at 24th June 2003....
all other sponsorship application types have moved along nicely, but not the one for parents/grandparents, and I can get no explanation for this. All fees have long since been paid, but no action has been taken on what the monies was paid for ! I cannot be the only one caught in this apparent "block" in the CIC system. Anyone else out there in the same boat ? Or does anyone have helpful suggestions ??
I feel, once again, in no-mans-land.
Thanks in advance, Sheila Walshe.

I spoke before the Standing Committee in Vancouver last April(2005), and in May I sent off all required forms, fees etc., to Sydney, NS.
I got an acknowledgment 11 days later..then nothing till October 2005,apologising for the delay in processing , and since then, absolutely nothing.
Can anyone out there advise me on any action I can take at this stage ?
My darling father died recently, without the satisfaction of having his first-born recognized by her country..as he said, he was prepared to die for his country, why wouldn't his country recognize his daughter ?
He was very angry about it.
He married,in 1942, in England, I was born in 1943, he continued fighting for the allies, he was temporarily blinded, his hearing was permanently impaired, yet he continued in his duty, now I must continue to fight his last battle for him.
My son got his Citizenship last year, my daughter and grandaughter will be applying for theirs this November, they both did it the long way, I am so looking forward to getting my status restored.
Sheila Walshe.
Please Help if you can.
