The only problem with this is that almost all 'truths' are based (at their core) on a belief or set of beliefs. No one EVER can know the ACTUAL TRUTH, for, in my humble opinion, it would require the knowledge of EVERYTHING. It's is the only way I can conceive of to have a 'truth' that is not based in any way on a 'belief'.

I like that line very much! Would you mind if I 'borrowed' it a little? It's 'true', blunt, and very quotable..., but back to the subject: I think it depends a lot on the definition you choose to use for 'christian'. If you mean those that believe in 'Christ-the-savior', I would say they ARE 'true christians', BUT if you mean those who believe only because it's what they were taught growing-up or what they chose to believe out of fear of eternal punishment, then I would agree that they are not TRULY 'christians' but instead, shallow followers of something they only pretend to understand.

As far as 'religious freedom' + 'christianity' -- I feel compelled to point out that to be a 'christian' in the biblical sense, you aren't SUPPOSED to have 'freedom'. You are to worship 'the one true god'... or something to that effect, or burn eternally for your disobedience.

We are never 'TRULY' ALONE -- sometimes it's just a matter of realization that the others are there...
